Get Professional Laser Tooth Whitening Done in Thailand

If you are living in Thailand then you must know that laser tooth whitening is an increasingly popular dental cosmetic technique here that is used to make teeth whiter than they originally were or restore them to their former whiteness. We at MedAsia Healthcare Complex in Bangkok, Thailand advice those people to undergo this process who have stained or colored teeth, so that they can regain their confidence to smile without being ashamed of the fact that their teeth are yellow or dark colored instead of being pearly white.

What Stains Teeth?

The foods and drinks that we consume mainly stain teeth. People who drink coffee and wine will find that their teeth stain faster than those who do not. Smoking is another major culprit for teeth stains and even after one quits, the stains still remain to be seen. Merely brushing and flossing cannot get rid of such stains, which are known as extrinsic stains (because they are on the surface of the teeth). Intrinsic stains are within the tooth structure and form with time as the teeth grow. They are caused by factors such as too much fluoride and tetracycline. Laser tooth whitening can remove both forms of staining although the intrinsic ones may require multiple treatments.

Is Laser Tooth Whitening Effective?

As with every other treatment in the world, results vary from one person to the next depending on various factors. These factors may be things like what kind of staining it is, what density of enamel your teeth have and how sensitive your teeth are to the procedure.

The first thing our operative and cosmetic dentists at MedAsia Healthcare Complex, Thailand will do is determine whether or not the laser tooth whitening procedure can be performed on your teeth. They will have to determine how serious your staining is and the level of whiteness achievable. If you have cavities or various gum diseases then the procedure cannot be performed until these are treated first. Before the procedure is carried out dentist will have to clean your teeth first. Laser tooth whitening is more effective with extrinsic stains than intrinsic ones.

Does the Procedure Take Long?

The whole laser tooth whitening process will take about 45 minutes from start to finish but this does not include the time for the oral examination when the dentist determines whether you are fit for the procedure.

How Does It Work?

Our operative and cosmetic dentists at MedAsia Healthcare Complex, Thailand uses a gel that has hydrogen peroxide as the whitening agent and a sophisticated LED light that activates the gel. The use of the light on the gel also speeds up the treatment process cutting it down to just 45 minutes.

The gel used in laser tooth whitening contains hydrogen peroxide that releases oxygen into the surface of the teeth. This starts to break down the extrinsic stains and, through dehydration the oxygen starts to get rid of the stains. The LED light is used for the purpose of making the process faster. The procedure is done in three sessions, each session being 15 minutes long. With each session, the dentist applies a fresh coat of the whitening gel. You will not experience any pain.
