Surgeons Perform Breast Augmentation Surgery in Thailand
Surgeons Perform Breast Augmentation Surgery in Thailand

Personal appearance is very important in today’s society and increasingly sophisticated medical technology allows cosmetic surgeons to provide the very best in cosmetic related surgeries. One of the most common surgeries in this category is Breast Augmentation, or Augmentation Mammoplasty, which is done by surgically implanting small sacs filled with saline water or silicone gel behind the muscles of the breast area, thereby enhancing the overall size and appearance of the natural breasts of women.

Risks Associated with Breast Augmentation Surgery

Capsular contraction is when scar tissue develops in response to the surgery, increasing the chance of the breast tissue hardening. Rippling is when the implant can be visibly seen underneath the skin, In this case, both capsular contraction and rippling are less likely to occur but the recovery time is longer. At MedAsia Healthcare Complex we have the most highly qualified surgeons performing breast augmentation in the Thailand, which is one of the top sought after destinations by medical tourists, from around the world.

Choosing Types of Breast Implants

The first thing that must be done is to have a consultation with the surgeon to decide which type breast implant is best for you. The two most common types to choose from are smooth or textured. Smooth breast implants consist of a smooth outer covering or shell. Smooth implants have minimal rippling and an appealing natural look because of the ease in which each breast moves around inside the space allocated by the surgeon. The drawbacks of smooth breast implants are an increased risk of capsular contraction, and the tendency for the implant to lose its fullness because of the weight.

The other option is textured breast implants, which have a very fine granular texture. This type of implant is designed to prevent capsular contracture and less movement is the space where it is implanted. The negative aspects of textured breast implants that sometimes occur are discomfort to the tissues enveloping the implant and possible rippling.

Teardrop or Round Shapes

After the preliminary consultation, the surgeon will discuss the implant shape and size that is right for you. The two shapes that are available are round and teardrop. Many women prefer round implants because of the lift and fullness that they give to the all-around appearance of the breasts. However, other women don’t like the fake or phony look of round implants and prefer the contoured implants because of their more natural look.

The next decision to be made is whether or not you want the implants to be placed under or over the muscle tissue of the chest area, conveniently known as “overs” or “unders.”The benefit of “overs” or Subglandular placement is a quicker recovery time than “unders” or Submuscular placement with less pain. The benefit of “under” is less chance of developing capsular contraction or rippling. Breast Augmentation is usually an in-patient procedure in which patients will receive general anesthesia and be required to stay in the hospital at least overnight after the operation.
